Biography

Marica Teresa Rocca holds a degree in Building Engineering and Architecture and a PhD in Design, Modeling and Simulation in Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Pavia. She is a member of the Laboratory of Geomatics (LABGEO), where she contributes to research activities concerning the analysis and modelling of spatial data.

Her research focuses on the spatial assessment of viticultural suitability in relation to climate variability. Her main interests include geographic information systems, multi-criteria analysis, fuzzy logic, remote sensing, and the integration of climatic, topographic and soil data.

The developed methodologies are applied to sustainable vineyard planning, risk assessment, and the adaptation of viticultural systems to changing environmental conditions, with particular attention to Pinot Noir cultivation in the Oltrepò Pavese region.
