Biography
Davide Lodigiani holds a degree in Civil Engineering and is a PhD candidate in Design, Modeling and Simulation in Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia. He is a member of the Laboratory of Geomatics (LABGEO), where he contributes to research activities concerning three-dimensional geospatial data.
His research focuses on the semantic classification of high-density airborne LiDAR point clouds using advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques. His main interests include LiDAR data processing and quality assessment, three-dimensional segmentation, and the automatic recognition of features within the landscape and urban environment.
The developed methodologies are applied to the creation of ultra-high-resolution urban digital twins, the updating of three-dimensional city models, and urban-scale solar potential assessment.
