The Geomatics Laboratory at the University of Pavia will participate in ASITA 2026, the Italian Conference on Geomatics and Geospatial Technologies, taking place in Bologna from 17 to 20 November.

Under the theme “Protagonists of Change: From Resilience to Territorial Regeneration”, the conference will bring together universities, public bodies, professionals and industry to discuss methods and applications of geographic information.

The laboratory will present the following contribution:

“Nadir and Oblique Photogrammetry and High-Density LiDAR for Urban Mapping: Evolution of Validation Workflows from Milan to LiDAR-ITA and Pavia” – Authors: Vittorio Marco Casella, Marica Franzini, Davide Lodigiani, Marica Teresa Rocca, Christian Massimiliano Baldin, Luca Viola and Bruno Monti.

The contribution addresses the validation of photogrammetric and LiDAR data for urban mapping, drawing on experience gained in the Milan, LiDAR-ITA and Pavia projects. It focuses on the evolution of quality assessment procedures and the integration of nadir imagery, oblique imagery and high-density point clouds. The presentation is included in the preliminary programme within the thematic session on sensors, platforms and algorithms for photogrammetric data processing.
